Parable of THE SOWER – Part 5

It is highly recommended that the viewer start with Part 1 of this series.

As we continue our study of the parable of the sower, it is now time to take a look at the thought of thorny ground, and how that relates to FRUIT-BEARING in our lives as Christians.

Luke 8:14 (KJV)
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

We need to determine what Jesus meant by His statement about thorny ground bringing no fruit to perfection, because it is extremely important!

As expounded in the video, Jesus’ words in John 15 paint the rest of the picture:

John 15:1-4 (KJV)
15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

We will continue to build this picture with more and more detail, to reveal the mystery that Jesus declared.
