The beautiful lyrics express what a wonderful privilege it is to take our needs to the Lord in prayer, but they also emphasize just how sweet it is to talk with Him as a dear friend. Taking time to express our appreciation for His love and compassion strengthens our relationship with Him, and lets Him know just how much we care and how thankful we are for all that He does for us.
Dottie recorded her song with The Rambos in 1968. Arranged alongside a lilting tune that gently carries the words, this song has been covered by numerous artists though the years.
