At Calvary

In 1895, William R. Newell wrote the lyrics of “At Calvary” on the back of an envelope. He shared them with Daniel Towner, who then composed the tune. The hymn that resulted from their efforts captures the joy of the ongoing, life-changing experience that true salvation can bring, when we wholly dedicate ourselves to the Lord. The better we understand the magnitude of His grace, the more our ever-growing appreciation for His love and mercy continues to change us and draw us closer to Him.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free,
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
At Calvary.

We love the emphatic, celebratory feel of this song, praising our Lord for the wonderful redemption He purchased on Mount Calvary! We hope your heart will rejoice with us as you listen.
