“The Wise and the Foolish Man” was written by Ann Omley in 1948. Over the years the title has shifted and it is commonly recognized as “The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock”. The words for this song were taken from Jesus’ Sermon On The Mountain. Matthew and Luke both cover the events and the teaching of Jesus’ sermon in their writings.
We encourage many children’s hymns to help our kids understand the Bible and the lessons they can put into practice as they grow. Our sing-a-long choir has children of many ages. Our young ones sing this song because they like the catchy tune and doing the hand motions. But, for our older ones they enjoy the lessons they have learned from this simple song. They know that Jesus built His Church upon the rock and that Jesus is the cornerstone. The lessons from this simple children’s chorus are endless!
So please join us as our sing-a-long choir puts their all into this classic children’s hymn, “The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock”!
