I’ve Got The Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, Down In My Heart – sing-a-long song – JUNIOR CHOIR

Many older adults will remember singing this song as a child. It is a fun song to sing as the tune is very catchy and easy to sing along with.

In this version our kids sing four verses but there are many verses that have been passed down through the years. The kids always love singing the versions that add in so many words that it causes them to sing quickly just to get them all squeezed in.

It was written by George William Cooke who was born in Yorkshire, England in 1884. The song was copyrighted as “Joy in My Heart” in 1925. As a young man, he twice circled the globe in evangelistic endeavors.

Our young adults and children find as much joy today singing the song as others have in the past. It truly is the love of Jesus that puts joy in the heart and inspires heartfelt singing to the glory of God. Sweet music is a great tool to join hearts together – young, old and middle aged – and fill the soul with hope.
