Songs From the Heart

I Must Tell Jesus – sing-along song – Junior Choir

Tempted and tried we have a great savior. What a blessing to have such a kind, compassionate friend. We can sing this song thanks to Elisha A. Hoffman, the author.

He was a natural musician, although his musical education was limited. It was his parents’ custom during the hour of family worship, both morning and evening, to sing hymns. It becomes the desire of every godly parent to raise their children to be servants for our Lord, and this is exactly what Hoffman did. He became a minister and writer of nearly 2000 hymns!

It is said the inspiration for “I Must Tell Jesus” came as he was visiting with lady from his congregation. He suggested that she could do nothing better than to take all of her troubles to Jesus. “You must tell Jesus,” he told her. A light broke across her face and she cried, “Yes! I must tell Jesus.”

Hoffman left immediately with the words, I must tell Jesus, ringing in his heart. As soon as he arrived at home, he wrote the song. The message from this timeless old hymn is just as true today as it was when it was written: God wants to help us even more than we want to help ourselves. He wants us to share our burdens with him.

Please join the sing-a-long choir as they sing this wonderful song of worship.
