Parable Of The SOWER – Part 2
It is highly recommended that the viewer start with Part 1 of this series.
In this second episode of our video study on the Parable of the Sower, we emphasize some of the details Jesus did NOT intend that those who heard Him speak should understand. (That IS precisely what Jesus stated!) He said this parable was a great ‘MYSTERY‘, yet He explained enough of it to His disciples, that it gives us keys, so we can be sure what IS TRUE concerning it!
This is part two in our study, and once again uses live actors to portray the life and times as an illustration from ancient Israel.
In Luke 20:45-47, Jesus spoke something that would still cause anger among many religious people today (even as it did back then).
Luke 20:45-47 (KJV)
45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
Many religious people today would have condemned Jesus also. He was NOT a lover of long robes, nor did He seek any praise of men! He dressed in the manner that Godly men and prophets had been dressing even long before He came to this earth: humble! He was much more like David (whose wife, the daughter of Saul, condemned David strongly for dressing so “humble”; thus God punished her by making her barren). Jesus was described and prophesied as coming, and He did come, AS THE “SON OF DAVID” (of the tribe of Judah). David typified Jesus in many ways!
A great deal of study has been put forth in order to make this video presentation as authentic as possible, in presenting the customs and details of those times.
In the remaining episodes, we will examine each of the four types of people that Jesus was illustrating. Using His own statements, we will determine precisely what Jesus meant by each “type”. We hope that you will join us for each segment in this series on the Sower!
