CREATION STORY (NOT what most people assume)
When asked how old our solar system and universe is, or how long the creation in Genesis chapter 1 took, many Bible students will say that our universe was created in six 24-hour days, and that it is less than 10,000 years old.
Scientists of today disagree…and not only that, but many other people disagree also. Because of this conflict, many have turned to atheism.
The sun, stars, and moon were created to be a timer for this time world… yet they were not created until “the fourth day”. So how long did God take to create the world? Were each of the days of creation 24 hours long, or some other length?
We can look to the the Bible itself to gives us the answer to the meaning of the word “day”, and see how it is used in different contexts. For example, the Bible often mentions “the day of the Lord”, which is commonly called the “gospel day”, but clearly it is not a period of 24 hours.
We read in 2 Peter 3:8, “One day is with the Lord as a thousand years”.
Does God call a “thousand years” exactly one day? How does God really look at time?
Why is there emphasis in the creation story on the evening and morning with the evening always preceding the morning?
God created all things. He could have created all things in a short time, or over a long period of time. But He wasn’t just creating – He was also illustrating something with the process!
In this “Creation Story” video, we offer food for thought about each of these topics, and more. The study is condensed, and does not cover all of the scriptures that prove the background details. It is intended to help each person get started in their personal studying and searching of the scriptures, and thus enable them to FIND the truth.
