BIBLE MYSTERY #4

Can you guess the riddle of this bible mystery, the fourth in a series of 4? John 18:36 (KJV)

A SOLDIER WAS GIVEN A DUTY:
    A PRISONER TO GUARD IN THE STRIFE.
HE MUST NOT ALLOW HIM HIS FREEDOM,
    OR ELSE HE WOULD PAY WITH HIS LIFE.
THE SOLDIER COULD NOT BE TERMED LAZY.
    HE BUSIED HIMSELF ALL THE TIME.
HE CERTAINLY DID SOMETHING CRAZY.
    IT CAUSED HIM TO DIE IN HIS PRIME.
HIS WORK TOOK HIM IN ALL DIRECTIONS.
    HIS FAMILY WOULD NEVER BE POOR.
HE PROBABLY HELPED ALL THE NEEDY,
    AND SICK FOLKS WHO’D COME TO HIS DOOR.
HE LIKELY WAS VERY RELIGIOUS;
    HIS TALK MAY HAVE BEEN ABOUT GOD.
HE SURELY HAD VERY HIGH MORALS,
    THAT CAUSED ALL HIS FRIENDS TO APPLAUD.
THIS POOR SOLDIER DOES NOT SEEM WICKED;
    FOR HE ONLY FAILED IN ONE WAY.
AND SADLY SO MANY ARE LIKE HIM,
    AND FAIL IN THE SAME WAY TODAY.
THIS STORY IS TOLD IN THE BIBLE.
    WE HOPE YOU’LL REMEMBER THE THOUGHT.
IT’S NOT JUST THE BAD GUY THAT IS GUILTY,
    BUT ALSO THOSE WHO HAVE FORGOTTEN
TO SEEK FIRST THE SPIRITUAL TREASURES
    THAT GOD HAS REVEALED IN OUR DAY;
AND THOSE WHO’VE LET OTHER THINGS HINDER,
    AND CAUSED THEM TO STRAY FROM THE WAY.
