An Ancient Story, Revisited (Lessons From The Prodigal Son Parable) – Inspire4.com

Almost two thousand years ago, a story was told to illustrate some very important principles in life. Since that time, and even in today’s modern world, many people have used the basic theme of that ancient story as a basis for their own stories. That story is Jesus’ parable of the “Prodigal Son”.

Charles Dickens, for example, used this story as the plot for his classic novels Great Expectations and David Copperfield. Many other books and movies have been made which are based upon the plot that Jesus first proclaimed, when He used the “Prodigal Son” as a lesson to try to teach the Pharisees. The Pharisees claimed to serve God, but instead were blinded by their own false religious beliefs, which Jesus exposed as only traditions of men.

In this video, we allow Jesus’ story to be told as He proclaimed it, making use of modern photo and video technology to illustrate it. This video uses live actors, carved characters, and figurines with background settings to attempt to portray the story of the “Prodigal Son” and its meaning more clearly.
