Make The World Go Away – 24K Gold Music Shows

This 24K Gold Music Show video features a tribute to Eddy Arnold’s “Make the World Go Away”. It was composed by Hank Cochran. He was inspired to write the song while he was on a date at a movie theater in 1960. He left the theater, said good night to the date, and wrote the song within minutes of returning home. Hank Cochran was already a successful songwriter and had written two hits for Patsy Cline: “I Fall to Pieces” (with Harlan Howard) and “She’s Got You”.

“Make the World Go Away” was released first by Ray Price. Other artists who did the song include Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Martina McBride, and Engelbert Humperdinck.
