Home – Bobbie Sue – (3 Generation Quartet) – 24K Gold Music Shows
24K Gold Music Shows performs a two song set featuring our Three Generation Quartet. As with any loving father and grandfather, Doyle is always happy to include his family. The Three Generation Quartet consists of Doyle, his son Denny, and Denny’s two sons, David and Matthew. Our audiences always enjoyed the presentations from the quartet. Many said they captured the oldies sound but most all agreed that it was the family aspect that made the guys so endearing. No matter what style of song they would do, The Three Generation Quartet was always able to add true heartfelt emotion to their number.
“Home” was written by Rusty Goodman, Tonya Goodman Stykes, and Aaron Wilburn, all of the Happy Goodmans. It was introduced to the gospel music world more recently than many of the old time hymns but it had an oldies style about it and soon became a favorite of our fans.
It only seems right that a quartet would sing quartet songs so it was an easy decision to include the Oak Ridge Boys number one hit song “Bobbie Sue” for the Three Generation Quartet. As the song goes, “Bobbie Sue” was Robert and Ruth’s teenaged daughter. A mutual friend tells the guy about her and they fall in love. He says it is true love and he wants to marry her but Robert says they need to wait and Ruth, well, she thinks it is a big mistake. This was the perfect song to follow The Oak Ridge Boys first number one single, “Elvira”!
